Fabrication Manager

Opening and Location Atkore Conduit & Fittings, a part of Atkore International, currently has an opening for a Fabrication Manager for our facility located in Binghamton, NY. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Fabrication Manager's primary focus will be to plan, organize and control production in the Fabrication organization to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: o Develop, implement, manage and communicate plans to establish internal fabrication manufacturing within quality, production, and financial objectives o Responsible for developing and managing a team to be responsible for fabrication of products to meet customer demands o Determine and manage human and material resources in order to meet production targets and appropriate stock levels o Implement, enforce, and analyze quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives and correct any issues o Develop, implement, and manage departmental standard work o Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures o Analyze and report department performance on production volume, cost, and quality o Forecast, set, and manage fabrication budgets and implement cost control program o Analyze and report (written and/or oral) to the Plant Manager the status of high priority jobs or issues deemed to be priority by Senior Management o Plan and maintain resources for the department (people, equipment, etc.) to ensure on-time attainment of fabrication products and service requirements at the best cost and highest quality o Proactively identify and implement process and quality improvements and initiate corrective and/or preventive actions when out of compliance o Schedule and manage the fabrication team; set goals, monitor key performance indicators, hire staff, develop and document training plans to ensure employees are trained and in compliance with all procedures; coach and counsel to improve results, conduct ongoing performance appraisals o Provide leadership guidance to shift leads o Participate in inventory/scheduling meetings for planning of product requirements and subsequent scheduling of fabrication as needed o Liaison with employees and management teams to identify ways to continually foster and promote a positive work environment by direct involvement with all levels of employees o Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including extrusion, shipping, warehouse, procurement and management o Participate as an active member of the Plant Safety Committee o Responsible for supervision of all Fabrication department staff, including shift leads and approximately 19 employees Requirements Qualifications o High school diplomarequired o Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, engineering, or industrial technology preferred o 5 to 8 years of similar work experience; or an equivalent number of years of education and work experience. o Five or more years of PVC Fabrication experiencepreferred. o Experience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles o Strong Computer skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point o Effective leadership skills and problem solving techniques is a must. o All associates must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Teamwork and Accountability. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
