We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician to be based out of Binghamton NY.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this person's primary focus will be to maintain production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
What you'll do:
Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on majority of production machines and equipment.
Performs maintenance on buildings and grounds.
Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Assist the Production Department with die assemble, die cleanup, startups and shutdowns.
Perform tool changes on Belling Machines and Perforators when required.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Levels of Maintenance Technicians will be determined by factors such as:
Level I - Monitor stock levels of Maintenance supplies and spare parts and notify Maintenance Manager if orders are necessary.
Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems.
Level II - Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all production machines and equipment.
Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance requirements.
Able to troubleshoot minor electrical issues and basic control troubleshooting.
Capable of assisting in the training of new plant employees.
Level III - Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
Assist management in the development of new policies and procedures regarding employee safety.
Perform inspections of building and equipment required by regulatory agencies.
Perform the duties of the Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.
Monitor stock levels of Maintenance supplies and spare parts and participate in ordering required supplies and spare parts.
Ability to follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
Able to troubleshoot minor electrical issues and basic control troubleshooting.
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
What you'll bring:
Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent Strong mechanical aptitude Experience with installation of machinery and equipment as well as dis-assembly.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.
Minimum of 9 months related experience for level I, 12 months for level II & III Within 3 months, you'll:
Complete any required training.
Have developed relationships within the department.
Be well-versed in Maintenance strategic priorities and the importance of your role to daily operations.
Works as a positive team member that helps lift others to a higher level.

50 dollars per hour, plus aggressive bonus structure.
